So instead of heading to work today, I decided to extend my impromptu vacation by an extra day, the weather called to be in the mid 40's, my birthday is this week and I had ants in my pants from being cooped up this past week resting my weary head. So, I piled the dogs in the car and drove them to the Palisades were we hiked for 9 miles. It was wet, frozen, muddy and trees were all barren. We did not see anyone else on the trail, perhaps a deer in the far off bramble and some cargo boats floating in the Hudson. There are a few things that are an ultimate joy for me, the dogs and exploring with them being one of them. On my way home I picked up a ume onigiri (plum shiso triangle rice thing wrapped in seaweed), along with miso, soba, green sencha and a bag of good crap from trader joes. Including mango banilla..
